House Committee Vote Wednesday - Yes on SB 1987!

The Oklahoma House of Representatives Rules Committee will convene Wednesday (4/2) to consider Senate Bill 1987, legislation that would place a 12-year term limit on all secondary state-wide elected officials including: Attorney General, State Auditor and Inspector, and the State Superintendent for Public Instruction.

A similar House bill passed the same committee several weeks ago that placed an 8-year term limit on the same offices.

If the bill passes out of committee, the full House will vote on the measure which will then travel back to the Senate for final passage. If the bill passes the Senate the people of Oklahoma will then decide the issue this November on the general election ballot.

NOTE: (SB 1987 first passed the Senate two weeks ago on a 31-17 margin - 7 Democrats joined all 24 Republicans in voting yes.)

Call on your legislator and tell them to vote yes on statewide term limits!
